Supporting Our Students

Frequently Asked Questions

Due to power outages, the FSU Food for Thought Pantry lost all perishable food in the recent storms. We continue to have students on campus who rely on the pantry as well as student emergency funds to meet a variety of needs, including loss of income, transportation, financial support or caregiver support.

The Student Emergency Fund will be used to support students facing financial crises and address needs from food insecurity and emergency travel to housing assistance. Additionally, we continue operating our Food for Thought Pantry to support our students. Donors may also directly support the FSU student food pantry by purchasing items listed on its Amazon Wish List.

The student emergency funds have been created to be put to work immediately for our students. Support will be granted to students who complete an application process and distributed as both need and financial support is identified. Simply put, the more funds raised, the more students we are able to help at a faster speed!

Gifts can be made online using a credit card, debit card or PayPal on the Student Emergency Fund giving page.

Gifts can also be made via check made payable to the FSU Foundation. Checks should reference Fund F8909 (Tallahassee campus Student Emergency Fund). Donors may also directly support the FSU Food for Thought Pantry by purchasing items on its Amazon Wish List.

The FSU Division of Student Affairs Department of Student Support and Transitions (DSST) has information on available resources, including information on the Student Emergency Fund.

Students should contact DSST at dsst@fsu.edu to begin the application process if eligible.
