Judith Hayden is an environmental engineer specializing in infrastructure projects. She is president and founder of Environmental and Geotechnical Specialists, which provides environmental and geophysical engineering services for transportation-related projects throughout North Florida. The business has grown to five locations across the state.

Hayden received a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Dayton and taught in a rural public school in Indiana following graduation. She returned to university life, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Oklahoma State University in 1977, where she was the only female civil engineering student in her class. She received a Master of Science in Civil Engineering in 1979 from Kansas State University. She was recognized throughout her engineering studies for her accomplishments, receiving both scholarships and research assistantships.

Hayden worked for private engineering firms and governmental agencies throughout her early career. In 1992, she opened EGS with her husband Myron in Tallahassee. Their two adult children, Tom and Audra, joined the business after receiving their civil engineering degrees.

Hayden is a board-certified professional engineer. She is an active member of the Florida Engineering Society, the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Public Works Association and the American Society of Highway Engineers. Hayden has received the Engineer of the Year award from both the Florida Engineering Society Big Bend Chapter and the American Society of Civil Engineers, Big Bend Chapter. She serves on the board of the Florida Engineering Foundation.

Hayden has been very active in the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering over the past 25 years, serving on its advisory board.
