Catherine M. Johnson is an emerita Texas Board of Architectural Examiners (TBAE) registered interior designer. She currently resides in Houston, Texas.

Johnson is the daughter of a career military officer and was fortunate to not only travel the United States but also complete her high school requirements in Stuttgart, Germany. She received her undergraduate degree from the College of Fine Arts at Florida State University. Continuing studies took her to Harvard and Rice University, where she earned an executive MBA.

Her design practice has included both commercial and residential projects. Among her clients are several major corporations, including Exxon, USAA and Chase Bank. She has been recognized with several design awards, including The Design Excellence Award, the PRISM Award for Remodeling and, recently, the FSU School of Architecture and Design Distinguished Service Award.

Johnson has served on many boards, including the Network of Executive Women in Hospitality and The Rice Design Alliance, as well as those supporting the Seminole Boosters. She established internship programs for young design students and continues to support education today with the establishment of a scholarship in her name.

She credits her husband as being instrumental in her success. He, too,is a Seminole, as are all four of her siblings.
