Raymond Cottrell received his medical degree from the University of Texas-San Antonio. Cottrell completed his internship and residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in gastroenterology at Shands Teaching Hospital at the University of Florida. Cottrell practiced in Orlando for 24 years before moving to Tallahassee in 2006. While in Orlando, he served as chairman of the Division of Gastroenterology and Gastrointestinal Endoscopy for 10 years at the main campus of Orlando Regional Medical Center. Cottrell enjoys practicing all aspects of gastroenterology and hepatology and has served on numerous boards and committees at Florida State University. He was previously the national chairman of the FSU Alumni Association and Seminole Boosters Board of Directors. He is an avid golfer.
