Education B.S. ’81 Location Tallahassee, Florida Committee(s) Advancement and Donor Engagement Committee Bob Knight is an accomplished entrepreneur, photography industry executive, communicator by trade and Florida history educator. Knight and his wife Gail are published authors of “Married to It” and active philanthropists, mostly for Florida high schools, colleges and universities. The Knights are major donors and supporters of FSU, where they first met. They currently endo scholarships, contribute with guest lectures and participate in projects raning from Seminole Boosters to the Colleges of Business and Communication and Information. For more than 45 years in Tallahassee, the Knights owned and managed Bob Knight Photo, an event photography company which later became Iconic Group featuring GradImages. At its peak, GradImages photographed four million high school and college graduates throughout the U.S. and Canada. This successful business was started on FSU’s campus in 1976. Knight is also an avid student of world geography, cultures and high adventure. He and Gail have created images and captured moments in 94 different countries on seven continents. During his nearly 50 years in the photography business, Knight has personally captured over 500,000 images of beautiful and important people, athletes and stunning scenery. Significantly, their firm built a portfolio of millions of happy customers along the way. To enhance that result, the Knights have used every kind of unusual travel craft on the planet, including boats, blimps, biplanes, balloons, battleships, hover-craft, submarines and one Navy Grumman A-6 Intruder attack fighter. Bob and Gail’s most recent endeavor is the Knight Think Institute,LLC in Tallahasee; where he presides as CEO and president. The Knights have three grown sons, Timothy, Daniel and Thomas, with bachelor’s degrees from the University of Colorado, Appalachian State University and FSU, respectively. Thomas also has a master’s degree from the University of Essex in England. The boys have also inherited their parents’ love of travel and adventure.
