The Florida State University community is mourning the loss of Shridhar K. Sathe, Robert O. Lawton Distinguished Professor and Hazel K. Stiebeling Professor in the College of Health and Human Sciences, who died Thursday, April 4, at the age of 68.

“Dr. Sathe was an internationally renowned scientist, but more importantly, he was a loving father and husband and a wonderful friend and colleague,” said Michael Delp, dean of the FSU College of Health and Human Sciences. “As an FSU Robert O. Lawton Distinguished Professor, Dr. Sathe inspired faculty and students around him to strive for excellence, but he was never too busy to offer a word of encouragement. Dr. Sathe made our college a better place to study and work, and we all will miss him greatly.”
