Dedman School of Hospitality Announces the Launch of the Director’s Club

The Director's Club

Florida State University Dedman School of Hospitality is excited to announce the launch of a new alumni giving society, the Director’s Club.

The society was created with the school’s future in mind. Director of the Dedman School of Hospitality Dr. Don Farr emphasized the important role that alumni giving plays in supporting the school’s most immediate needs.

“I don’t want any student to turn down an internship because they can’t afford the plane ticket, or not be able to participate in study abroad because of the program cost,” says Farr. “These are the kinds of barriers that the Director’s Club will help to eliminate. All students should have the same opportunities, regardless of their financial abilities.”

There are many ways that the society will impact Dedman and its students. Alumni contributions will be used to:

  • Provide scholarships to those in financial need
  • Cover expenses for professional conferences and industry events
  • Support student organizations
  • Fit classrooms with the latest in technology and equipment
  • Bring in guest speakers and mentors
  • Sponsor professional certifications (Certified Specialist of Wine)

The school is a top program for hospitality and tourism education, ranked No. 7 nationally and No. 15 globally.

“We can continue to rank highly because our talented alumni showcase the quality of their education every day in their professional lives,” Director of Development at the Dedman School of Hospitality Alex Douglas said. “I encourage alumni to participate. Our prominent reputation comes down to our graduates and the success they establish in their careers. Giving back through the Director’s Club ensures that we’re able to provide the same for our current students.”

The Director’s Club will honor alumni who have committed to supporting the school through one of the sustaining levels offered. To join or for more information, visit give.fsu.edu/directorsclub.
