Florida State University’s College of Human Sciences is a multidisciplinary academic unit that addresses the health and development of individuals, families and communities. The college ranks as one of the top 10 programs in the human sciences in terms of graduate and undergraduate enrollment, degrees granted, contract and grant, expenditures, number of endowed chairs and professorships, and total endowment. The College of Human Sciences offers 12 undergraduate majors, masters' and doctoral programs within three academic departments: Family and Child Sciences; Nutrition, Food and Exercise Sciences; and Textiles and Consumer Sciences.

Although the programs within the college are diverse, students graduate with an integrative approach in addressing societal concerns, critical thinking skills regarding issues affecting individuals and families, and fundamental competencies necessary to carry out professional roles. In addition, select programs require faculty supervised internships, which provide students with the experience of applying theoretical and research knowledge in real-world settings.
