The Foundation strives to create and nurture relationships with FSU alumni, faculty, students, parents and friends. Without private support, we would not be able to attract and retain distinguished faculty who conduct ground-breaking research and who inspire students to achieve beyond their dreams. Also, we would not be able to provide students with scholarships, facilities and special programs that will help prepare them for their future careers. The following gifts are just a few ways donors support FSU. Please note: only gifts of $25,000 and above are listed in Recent Gifts to FSU.

Timothy J. and Jill E. Meenan established the Tim & Jill Meenan Student Government Scholarship endowment. This fund will provide annual scholarship awards to one or more members of the Florida State Student Government Association who have demonstrated financial need. The Meenans made an additional spendable gift to award the scholarship in the current year. APRIL 2009 Over a 12 month period, many friends and colleagues of Elaine Tully Woodward, including her daughter Katee Tully, contributed a significant sum to establish an endowed scholarship in her name. The Elaine Geiger Tully Woodward Award is given annually to a student who has demonstrated significant contributions to the overall circus program through a helpful, enthusiastic and positive attitude while maintaining an above-average grade point average. JULY 2008 Finley Cook and Lamont Cook established the Cook Brothers, Inc. Scholarship through their business, Cook Brothers, Inc. This scholarship will provide financial support to two undergraduate students admitted to Florida State University who do not qualify for the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program but do have financial need, including one student from Leon County, Florida and one student from Gadsden County, Florida. JUNE 2008 Kenneth R. Hart and Carol L. Gregg made an additional commitment to the Ken Hart & Carol Gregg Endowment. Two-thirds will be used by the College of Law to establish the Carol L. Gregg and Kenneth R. Hart Fund for Excellence for the Public Interest Law Center and provide financial support where it is most needed, with preference for supporting litigation expenses. One-third will be used by the Division of Student Affairs to endow the Ken Hart and Carol Gregg Endowment for Counseling Programs in the Florida State University Counseling Center. These funds will be used to support outreach prevention programs and other needs of the Counseling Center. Additionally, in recognition of the immediate need to enhance the financial assistance available to the Division of Student Affairs to support graduate assistantships in the Counseling Center, the donors made a non-endowed commitment to support the Ken Hart and Carol Gregg Counseling Center Graduate Assistantship.
